Technology unit includes multiple forms of media and technology tools.	The technology unit incorporates the use of Internet, resource CD-ROMs, and multimedia authoring/presentation software such as HyperStudio, PowerPoint, and/or AppleWorks slide show. Word processing software will also be used as students keep a journal of their daily travels.
Unit length is five to ten days.	The unit will last approximately ten days.
Unit can be for any subject area.	This unit integrates social studies, math, language arts, and technology.

Description	A description of the project and purpose for the unit are given in the unit documentation.
Timeline of events	A timeline of events is given for each of the ten days.
Explanation of how unit addresses technology and content standards	SD content standards for social studies, math, and language arts are listed as well as technology standards (NETS) that are met throughout the unit.
All assessment tools whether tests or rubrics are included.	All handouts and a scoring rubric that both teacher and students will need are included.
Unit is well documented.	The unit is well documented and could be taught by another teacher.
Resources are given.	Links to helpful web sites for this unit are provided for student use.

This project allows students the opportunity to work collaboratively with their peers, promote higher order thinking skills, access technology to assist in the learning process, and be active versus passive learners.
